Smile Merry Christmas from a new guy in Cincinnati!

Good afternoon everyone! I just bought my Panther, and I can't wait to troll around here and learn about my car. I've wanted a Panther car for a long time, and finally today was able to make it happen. I bought a 2000 Grand Marquis GS HPP car today, and I couldn't be happier! She's Spruce Green Metallic with a tasteful silver pinstripe and gray cloth interior. The odometer has clicked over 131,900 miles, but the interior doesn't show any of them. Looking forward to getting to know you guys and my car better.

Thanks,
Ron

This thread is worthless without pics!

Here's my ride, be kind!

Not hard to be kind about that beauty, Ron! She's gorgeous. It's hard to believe that such a good-looking vehicle can be almost 12 yrs old, isn't it? Is it your first big car?

I had a 1980 Caprice Classic a few years ago, and I loved it, but my wife had a vastly different opinion of that car. Something about being 4'11", pregnant, and trying wield a fullsize car from a vinyl bench seat, behind a non-tilt column without a/c... She wasn't a fan.

As for this old Merc, I searched all over the place locally, looking for a car with the right equipment for the right price, and it seemed every time I thought I found one, there was something that popped up late that turned me off. This Spruce Green Metallic color was about tied for second place in my preference of color (I wanted a bright red metallic one) but the options, condition, and price all brewed together to get my attention. I just can't believe this old girl laid around the dealership for over 90 days. Worked out for me though, I was able pick her up for $4300 out the door, including taxes, tags, and doc fees. I figure the actual purchase price was around $3750. Pretty good deal IMO! The wife is much happier with this one!

Sweet ride, I just bought my 98 CV today up here in Dayton. Tired of my 99 Blazer needing something every month, since getting it in April have done water pump, thermostat, pads and rotors front and back, calipers(4), wheel bearing, heater core, xfer case module, steering gear, pitman arm, idler arm, sway bar links, belt tensioner, idler pulley, and an alignment and is still stuck in 4wd. It was primarily my wife's car, we thought an SUV was the way to go because we had a 2 year old. The only thing about a Blazer is.. there's no room inside! Not to mention the underpowered 4.3 V6. My wife and I are in our early 20's so she wasn't thrilled to get a grandma car, but after driving it she's convinced. It is the smoothest riding car I've ever had. It's a standard CV, it doesn't throw you back in the seat the way the Interceptor's with the 3.23 gear do, but it's still pretty quick. Got out for $3300 ttl, with 106,000 miles. Now there's nothing but ford's in my driveay, never thought I'd be a ford guy but I guess I am. Got a 97 escort, the rusty but trusty 89 f150 and the vic. Anyways, Merry Christmas and enjoy your new ride.

Welcome, Zeek and congrats on the buy. Mine is a straight P71 and my wife doesn't even like riding in it because everyone is looking. I have been tempted lately to go get a Maaco paint job and put on some Crown Vic wheels and drop the spotlights. I thought about selling it and was shocked to see on eBay that similar cars to mine were going for about $1500. The trans is worth more than that to me!
