Default door keypad question 2000 vic

Keypad on door is wonky and turns on randomly and drains battery. I pulled the fuse for the keypad on door but that works climate control too.
I was wondering if I could just disconnect the keypad on the door rather than replace it as I have never used it. Would disconnecting it adversely affect anything else with regards to the stuff on that fuse?
Thanks for your help

Shouldn't affect anything else on the fuse directly, but I don't know if disconnecting the keyless entry pad on the door will disable your keyless entry via key fob too. Only thing to do is try it! Make sure you report back if you do.

Default repalced key pad

I ended up getting the keypad on the door replaced.

Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind my asking, how much was the repair? Did you do it yourself, or have a shop do it?
